Invited players

We all noticed that few games finished this last week. I suppose that there are many open games and not enough players. What if we could invite specific, trustworthy persons to join the game? No need for coding and site changes, each of us could find 2-3 friends that are interested to participate, and suggest their names (and mail addresses) to obarta. He could then allow account creation for them. This way we could increase the number of players, without the risk of getting trolled.

Plus, I think that we should not start any new games at the moment. Any thoughts?

Also, sorry I haven't contributed in weeks... first I was at a week-long festival in Hungary, then I bought a 1971 Mercedes bus that has been converted into a motor home and spent a week fixing the suspension and stuff, and then I got back to work and I've been rather tired since then because I didn't really sleep much during my holidays.

I've also decided to really cut down on the time I spend in front of the computer.

Still having heaps of fun reading PicTelephone games though.

If you are already a picture-telephone user and you want to get your very good friend an account, here is what you do: email me with your pt username and some proof of ID (perhaps the most recently completed game on your my games list, or the topic of the first panel you ever created?) and the desired username and password of the new account, and I will manually create the account.

I guess a lot of PT's plays are by players who contribute a lot when they join, and then get tired and don't play again for a long while, if at all. The few recently completing games seem to be mainly by PT regulars.

Aaah! thanks Ellix, haven't seen the blog post. So this is something that can be done.

@Motorsheep: a trip to Hungary and a new/old motorhome sound nice! Within the next 15 days I'll be moving on a small island quite far, and electricity by itself will be luxury. Until then I 'm growing roots in front of the screen.

I've basically stopped playing because trying to draw with my trackpad is no longer fun... and I used to be pretty prolific as a player. So that might be a contributing factor.

I sent an email to obarta about the possibility of allowing existing regular users to open multiple accounts. It would probably mean contributing to the same game more than once, but I think that would be better than games not completing at all. I don't know how many people would be interested, though.

The admin contacted me and said they were going to set up an account for me to log in and play. I can't wait. HOURS was wasted on Broken Picture Telephone. So, they are still setting up accounts, though it is taking a while. If you know of people who were interested in BPT, I would tell them to contact the admin.

I've been unable to contribute for the last few weeks unfortunately. When I use Firefox I'm unable to join games (It says, "join game pending" or something like that but never goes through), and when I use Safari, I usually can get the joined games to actually load, but once I start typing or drawing the app (silverlight?) crashes.
